The character devotedly followed the career of Captain Marvel and went by the codename Ms Marvel once she discovered her own ability of changing shape.

Created by Sana Amanat and Stephen Wacker, writer G Willow Wilson and artist Adrian Alphona, Kamala Khan or Miss Marvel is a Pakistani-American teen superhero from Jersey City.

So Riz Ahmed has thrown his name into the ring to write Marvel Studio's Ms. Marvel movie. She made her first appearance in Captain Marvel in August 2013, before starring in the solo series Ms. Marvel in February 2014.

"Captain Marvel's shooting right now with Brie Larson", he said. Along with new Spider-Man Miles Morales, Kamala Khan is one of the most celebrated new characters to hit superhero comics in the last decade, so people were excited.

Feige revealed during an interview with the BBC that Marvel already has "plans" to bring Kamala into the Marvel Cinematic Universe sometime after her idol Captain Marvel is introduced in the films next year.

If this isn't enough to excite you, there is more to it as per recent developments.

After Kevin Feige hinted at the introduction of the Muslim superhero Kamala Khan - alias Ms. Marvel - to the MCU, Riz Ahmed and Mindy Kaling got pretty excited.

"So when do [Marvel Studios] want me, [Mindy Kaling], and [Kumail Nanjiani] to get started on the Ms. Marvel screenplay?"

Ahmed's suggestion stems from the fact that he is British-Pakistani, while Kaling has an Indian heritage and Nanjiani is Pakistani-American.
