All of this allegedly took place inside a bright, gable-roofed, four-bedroom house that looks from the outside as well-kept as the rest of those on the cul-de-sac.

Each Rogers and Allen have denied the accusations towards them.

Ina Rogers, 31, told reporters that she had one prior interaction with child welfare officials when her mother "had mentioned something" that prompted a home visit. She provided photos of a room where she said he worshiped the devil. "I am an unbelievable mother". Allen is the father to the children, who range in age from a few months to 12 years old. It was unclear whether she was immediately taken into custody because reporters were ordered to leave the courtroom.

The boy was eventually found sleeping under a bush in a neighbor's yard, police said.

Authorities say her ten children suffered long-term abuse in a filthy home. "Animal and human feces and a large amount of debris making areas of the house unpassable", Hurlbut said.

The investigation started on March 31 when police responded to a report of a missing 12-year old on the 2200 block of Fieldstone Ct.

The charges allege that Rogers caused the children to be in a situation that was likely to produce great bodily injury and death.

The children's mother, 30-year-old Ina Rogers was arrested that evening and booked into Solano County Jail for child neglect.

The children did not require medical attention when they were removed, but stories about abuse came out gradually over the past six weeks and eight of the children told professionals about incidents dating back several years, authorities said. Neighbors say the grandmother is very loving, taking the children to school and on errands since both parents are in jail. The prosecution added nine new felony counts of child abuse to the one misdemeanor she previously faced.

He was booked into the county jail and is being held on $5.2 million bail, said police.

"On a continuous basis the children were getting punched, strangled, bitten, shot with weapons such as crossbows and bb guns, hit with weapons such as sticks and bats, subjected to "waterboarding" and having scalding water poured on them", Solano County Deputy District Attorney Veronica Juarez wrote. Her attorney argued bail should be what she could afford at $50,000 saying, she's not a threat to the community.

"She told me she's never lived alone and now that her kids are gone and her husband is gone, she's just a mess", Quartman said.

"There's no broken bones, there is no major scars, nothing", Rogers said.

On Monday, she invited members of the media to tour her house and they found cluttered rooms and a bathroom floor covered in excrement.

Rogers said she felt unfairly judged for her lifestyle. "Rogers" family, including her brother and sister, sat in shock during the hearing.

The ongoing abuse, said to be committed against nine of the youths, dates back to 2014, Henry said.

"My husband has a lot of tattoos". But I am not an animal.

Peggy Allen, the mother of Jonathan Allen, said she had talked to Rogers about the importance of keeping a clean house.
