Arsenal chief Raul Sanllehi is key to their pursuit of Nice midfielder Jean-Michael Seri.

Sky Sports claims that the Gunners have already held discussions with the representatives of Seri regarding a summer move.

Seri is an Ivory Coast worldwide with 18 caps.

The £40 million-rated midfielder is also wanted by Chelsea and almost joined Barcelona past year.

There stays an uncertainty over the managerial positions at each Chelsea and Arsenal which might play a component in any negotiations.

The Gunners were interested in Seri last season but Antonio Conte's side are still front-runners to secure the 26-year-old, according to the Mirror.

According to a report by Daily Mirror, Chelsea have taken pole position in the race to sign Jean Michael Seri in the summer transfer window.

The Ivorian has enjoyed another impressive campaign and attracted Premier League interest with a potential transfer fee of £40million being touted. Seri though, moved on from last summer's disappointment quite well with 2 goals and 10 assists in 42 outings across all competitions this season, although the going was slightly tough for the Ligue 1 outfit as they finished 6th on the table.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea are looking for new managers, so we don't expect any deal to culminate in the near future.

Meanwhile, Arsenal have been heavily linked with a move for their former player Mikel Arteta.
