Over at PNC Park on Wednesday, the Chicago White Sox and the Pittsburgh Pirates will be meeting up on the Major League Baseball diamond. The right-hander gave up six hits - five singles - and didn't walk a batter.

Chicago has lost eight of nine and 12 of 14, dropping to a major league-worst 10-28.

The starters for Wednesday's second game of a short interleague series and final meeting of the season between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago White Sox weren't set until Tuesday. Kyle Crick and Richard Rodriguez completed the seven-hitter for Pittsburgh's league-best seventh shutout of the season.

Josh Bell doubled twice and drove in three runs, Sean Rodriguez had an RBI triple, and Colin Moran and Gregory Polanco each added run-scoring doubles for the Pirates.

Marte exited Tuesday's game against the White Sox early with right side discomfort. "I feel like, for the most part, we were anticipating slower, earlier and it kind of just worked out for us".

Chicago did not get a boost from the return of leadoff man Yoan Moncada, who was reinstated from the 10-day disabled list after recovering from a tight left hamstring. Williams had a 4-0 lead after the first inning and a 6-0 lead after the second and was in cruise mode all night.

White Sox: LHP Hector Santiago (0-1, 5.60 ERA) will make a spot start on Wednesday in the series finale. C Francisco Cervelli left the game at the end of the third inning with right forearm discomfort.

Santiago was pegged to make his third start, 12th appearance, when Chicago made a decision to push Carson Fulmer's start back to Friday against Texas at home to give him a full week off after he has struggled. He was hit by a 93 miles per hour fastball in the bottom of the inning by Lopez. He'll be replacing righty Carson Fulmer, whose scheduled start was pushed back to Saturday. As for Taillon, he left his last start due to a finger laceration but seems to be okay.
