T.I. was booked into the Henry County Jail for simple assault, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness, records indicated.

The Henry County Police Department has not immediately responded to Blavity's request for comment on the details regarding T.I.'s arrest. He paid a bail of $2,250. Local media reports say the Grammy-winning artist, whose real name is Clifford Harris, lost his key and the guard wouldn't let him into the community. Police told the station Harris ha d forgotten his key and gotten into an argument with a guard who wouldn't let him in.

We're also told T.I. did NOT make physical contact with the security guard, but the guard feared he would be hit during the dispute.

On Instagram live, T.I. didn't explain what happened but called it "nonsense". He claims the guard was asleep when his client arrived at the guardhouse and it took "some time to wake up the sleeping guard".

Rapper T.I. was arrested earlier Wednesday morning in Stock Bridge, Georgia, outside of his residence's gated community. In 2009, he was sentenced to one year and one day in prison and ordered to pay $100,300 for federal weapons charges after his sentence was reduced via plea bargain from 10 years and a $250,000 fine. He says he gave the guard "every opportunity" to apologize for sleeping, but the guy refused. "Tip clearly identified himself and sought entry", his attorney Steve Sadow wrote on Facebook. He says the guard eventually called the police, but says the law enforcement near his home are "white cops in a very white area", and he was promptly arrested. "The guard refused entry". "When the police arrived, they were not interested in hearing Tip's side of the story and wrongfully chose to end the situation by arresting Tip".

ABC News has reached out to T.I's camp for comment.
