The four-term USA representative emerged the victor in Tuesday's primary election, defeating state Rep. Jim Christiana of Beaver County.

Voters in Pennsylvania, Nebraska, Oregon and Idaho head to the polls today to cast primary ballots in congressional and gubernatorial races.

President Donald Trump is supporting Republican Lou Barletta (right) - a member of the U.S. House of Representatives - in Tuesday's U.S. Senate primary in Pennsylvania in the hopes that Barletta can unseat Democratic U.S. Sen.

That's not exactly a huge margin for Barletta, a longtime congressman who had the explicit endorsement of the President - and who spent almost $2 million on the race to just $250,000 for Christiana.

Casey is one of 10 Democratic senators who represent a state won by Trump, putting a target on his back for Republicans. These results are unlikely to calm their nerves.

Barletta, who was elected in the tea party wave of 2010, has taken a hard line on immigration in the Senate.

Republicans control the Senate, 51-49, and defeating Casey would give Republicans one more pro-Trump vote to help advance the president's agenda.

"Lou is my guy, and I need him in the U.S. Senate", Trump says on the recording.

The Republican congressman touted the accomplishments of President Trump and said Senator Casey used to be a do-nothing senator until Casey opposed Trump's tax cut and court and cabinet nominations.

Fetterman had made a failed bid in 2016 for the U.S. Senate. Each districts voted for Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump within the 2016 presidential election.

"They're exhausted of the same old guard and the same cast of characters who run for reelection every year", says Christiana. "If you, like all of the others, want to keep it going this way, go out and vote for Lou".

Republican Rick Saccone, who lost to Lamb, was seeking redemption in a primary for a Pittsburgh-area district that favors the GOP.

Casey, the son of a late former governor, has strong name recognition and has won five statewide elections.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee congratulated Barletta on the win.

Dwight Evans, in his first full term, will face Republican Bryan Leib in the November general election. But Barletta is still far behind Casey, who has brought in more than $10 million since the beginning of the cycle. Scott Wagner defeated businessman and Army veteran Paul Mango for the chance to face off in November against Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf, who ran unopposed.

With 51 of 75 Lawrence County precincts reporting, businessman Paul Mango holds a almost 500-vote lead over state senator Scott Wagner in the GOP governor primary.
