Nintendo haa confirmed that Switch will get a mainline Pokemon game but they haven't specified any release year or shared information about it.

On top of that, anyway, she said she won't be providing more information about this topic ahead of the official announcement of the game, which is slated to be coming as early as later this month and so before the E3 2018 kicks off. A recent tweet from Game Freak's Junichi Masuda also featured Pikachu and Eevee plushies, alongside a Pikachu doll wearing a Luigi costume, potentially in a sly nod towards Pokemon Let's GO!

The Pokemon Switch logo, which can be viewed below, reads 'Pokemon Let's GO!

Last year, I heard from sources familiar with the project that the game would indeed be set in Kanto and be a sort-of remake of Pokémon Yellow.

Additionally, it seems like the new games will be influenced by Pokemon Go in several ways, such as having visible Pokemon on the map. Both of these are one of the most popular IPs for Nintendo. Last year, Nintendo launched the 'Project Eevee' Twitter account, which exclusively focuses on the floppy-eared Pokemon.

"As we wait for an announcement on the upcoming Pokemon title, which will be revealed before the end of this month, think about what Pokemon Go might mean for the future of the Pokemon series". Rumors about Pokemon Switch are running rampant, and if Rogers is correct, fans should expect news any day now. In a blog post she discusses the importance of Pokémon GO to the franchise, suggesting a connection between the mobile game and the upcoming entry.
