After making the turn at 2-over-par, Johnson recorded an eagle on the par-4, 470-yard second hole when he lifted a shot with his sand wedge from 117 yards out onto the green and into the cup off one bounce.

Due to the forecast of rain and thunderstorms on Wednesday, the entire field will begin second round action with a shotgun start at 11:00 a.m.

Freshman Alex Shead shot his second straight even-par 71 for the Jaguars and is tied for 33rd (E), while sophomore Gustav Andersson and freshmen Laken Hinton and Olof Gunnarsson picked up a few strokes in round two.

"We are still in the game, but we did not start out well", BYU head coach Bruce Brockbank said.

The top five teams and the top individual finisher not on an advancing team will move on to the NCAA Men's Golf National Championship, which will be played at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla., on May 25-30. (The Reserve at Spanos Park; LSU, top seed).
