USC Softball Gets 9 Seed And Will Host NCAA Regional

Last week, Alabama (33-18) won its opening-round game at the 2018 SEC Softball Tournament against Auburn, 6-4, before being eliminated by Florida in the quarterfinals, 5-2.

For the sixth-straight year under head coach Beverly Smith, South Carolina softball has made the NCAA Tournament, this season playing host to the Columbia Regional starting against UNCG at 7:30 PM ET on Friday at Carolina Softball Stadium at Beckham Field.

Four Pac-12 schools are in line to host Super Regional tournaments over Memorial Day weekend by virtue being top-8 seeds. The Muleriders won the Great American Conference tournament last week. OU's roster includes a couple former Mizzou pitchers who left the program in past seasons, two-time All-Big 12 Paige Lowary and Parker Conrad. Those four were Houston (36-20), Notre Dame (32-21), South Florida (38-21) and Wisconsin (28-21), NCAA Tournament selection committee chair Natalie Shock said during the tournament selection show on ESPN2. The league landed seven bids out of its nine teams, and five of those squads are set to host regionals.

3-2 win over eventual national champion Oklahoma, 2-1 loss to Tulsa, 10-2 loss to Oklahoma.
