Napoli president De Laurentiis targets Wenger as Sarri waits for Chelsea offer

Chelsea managerial target Maurizio Sarri is set to be offered a new deal at Napoli to fend off any interest from the West London club, according to Calciomercato.

But Chelsea are also in the hunt and the player has reportedly told friends that he believes Sarri would be keen to sign him if he replaces Conte at the end of the season.

But De Laurentiis remains hopeful Sarri will be in charge of Napoli next season, though he understands he can not force him to stay.

If Koulibaly were to join Sarri at Chelsea, it confirms the free-flowing, exciting football that the former-Empoli manager would want to inherit at SW6.

"I clearly have fewer doubts than you if you're asking that question, but I can't hold anyone by force".

De Laurentiis is set for talks with Sarri - who has an €8million release clause in his contract - and he is remaining calm over the 59-year-old. I chose him myself, against most people's advice...

"There are many who would like to imitate him but it's really hard, so we're all grateful". Mazzarri was here for four years, Benitez had a contract for two years with an option for another that I never thought he'd exercise because he was struggling being away from his family.

However, the Napoli coach remains sceptical about signing fresh terms with the club as he is not sure whether he can have a proper working relationship with De Laurentiis going forward due to their differences.

"Does Sarri want to leave?" At the time of writing, it is still mathematically possible for him to do so, but extremely unlikely.

With just two games to go in the league, Juventus are a point away from the title but even two defeats could still do it as the Biaconeri are six points clear of Napoli with a superior goal difference of 16.
