Williams was the No. 7 running back in the country coming out of high school in 2016. While fans of Wisconsin and Williams were excited to pair yet another great running back together, the recruitment fell through due to a tweet Williams sent out regarding Badgers quarterback Alex Hornibrook.

The newest addition to the North Carolina football roster is someone that was at one point in time was previously commit of Larry Fedora's Tar Heels. He then changed his mind and instead officially committed to Ohio State.

Williams, who would have been a redshirt sophomore next season at Ohio State, announced he'll be transferring to UNC after the spring semester.

Last season, Williams gained 290 yards and scored three touchdowns, playing primarily as the third-string running back behind J.K. Dobbins and Mike Weber. Williams informed Inside Carolina that Kapilovic was once again instrumental in getting him to return. Williams will most likely have to sit out a transfer season before seeing game action in the fall of 2019.

In his time with Ohio State, Williams rushed for 318 yards and 3 TD.

In 2017, however, Williams saw his share of carries increase.

Williams also thanked his fellow running backs, calling them "his brothers away from home" and thanking them "for being my family". A former four-star recruit is transferring out of the program. With those two in the fold, perhaps Williams sought opportunities elsewhere.
