Rahul Gandhi to launch 'Save the Constitution' campaign today

- Lambasting the Modi-led government over a spate of recent incidents of sexual crimes against women and children, and in the wake of the massive outrage over the Kathua and Unnao rape cases, Gandhi said, "Atrocities against women and Dalits are rising under BJP".

The campaign is seen as the Congress party's major attempt to target Dalit voters ahead of 2019 Lok Sabha polls and will be attended by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, newly elevated general secretary Ashok Gehlot among other senior leaders.

The attendees of "Save the Constitution" are expected to take the message forward, holding similar campaigns in states to reach out to the Dalit community. Rahul said that the every institution is corrupted under the Modi government. PM Modi is only bothered about becoming the PM again.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi will launch his party's nationwide "Save the Constitution" campaign on Monday, aiming to highlight the alleged attacks on the Constitution and Dalits in recent times. The event is organizing at the Talkatora Stadium in Delhi. "Senior Congress leaders will join him", said Nitin Raut, chairman of the AICC's Scheduled Caste cell, in a statement.

The Congress president also mocked Prime Minister Modi for justifying manual scavenging by calling it a "spiritual experience" for the Valmiki community.

Continuing his tirade against Prime Minister Modi, Gandhi scion said that the people with RSS ideology are being placed in the institutions.

The Prime Minister's direction to party leaders came after violent protests erupted in parts of the country after a Supreme Court order allegedly diluted the Scheduled Castes and Schedules Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

"We will never allow the BJP and RSS to even touch our constitution".

As per the Congress, the Constitution is under threat in the BJP regime and the community is being denied opportunities in spheres of education and jobs.

The Supreme Court is being crushed. The Planning Commission was dismantled to establish NITI Aayog that has no accountability.
