New God Of War PS4 Update Focuses On Text Size

Santa Monica Studio has released a patch for God of War that gives players the option to increase the game's text size. First up, we have God of War, an incredible game that has racked up plenty of flawless review scores, and secondly, we have Yakuza 6, a sequel to the long-running Japanese crime drama series. Some text overlaying the map is also smaller than people are used to.

It's worth mentioning anyway that numerous things at display here have found an application in the complete game, too, such as the presence of Atreus (that creative director Cory Barlog had a tough time to make approve) and runes to apply to Leviathan, Kratos' AXE. Although, there was a small one, which the new God Of War Patch 1.12 has now fixed.

Although the "fix" improves the situation, it doesn't get rid of the cause completely.

Some players are reporting that it doesn't go far enough, and only serves to "magnify" existing text rather than use a larger font.

Checking out the update myself to see the changes, there is a new slider that lets you play with the size of text but it still needs more tuning. Given the short turnaround, it's possible a more thorough fix would have taken a lot longer. Santa Monica Studio continues to make sure God of War is the best entry in the series and will ensure that players have an outlet to send in anything and everything they see that doesn't make sense.
