MMA Today reports that the 29-year-old will be part of Dana White's Tuesday night Contender Series in Las Vegas.

It's the latest step in Hardy's post-NFL career.

"I'm not saying he should be welcomed here", White said according to Sporting News.

The former Carolina Panther and Dallas Cowboy defensive end previously announced his intentions of focusing on the combat sports, leading to his involvement with the highly acclaimed American Top Team gym in Coconut Creak, Florida. Most recently, he garnered a 14-second TKO win over Ryan Chester at Legacy Fighting Alliance 33 on February 16. Sayles, who is 5-1, is based in Fort Benning, Ga., and has won three straight fights.

Up to this point, Hardy has produced a 3-0 record as an amateur fighter, with all three victories coming via knockout. Hardy also knocked out his last opponent in 14 seconds under the respected LFA banner. His only loss was a 2012 decision to Chase Gormley.

Greg Hardy, whose stellar National Football League career ended in controversy, reportedly will get his first professional UFC fight in June after winning three bouts as an amateur. The first season of DWTNCS featured one of the organization's fast-rising stars in Sean O'Malley.
