The Indore Bar Association chose to not represent the 25-year-old man who was arrested during intervening night of Friday and Saturday for allegedly raping and killing an eight-month-old baby girl. The police recovered the body that was lying with blood stains all over the stairs. The probe in the case is going on and the police have recovered the blood stained clothes of the infant and the bicycle that was used for abducting her. Shockingly, the accused was also sleeping where the family was sleeping.

The post-mortem of the child, which was conducted at state-run MY Hospital, suggested that she might have been raped before being murdered as her private parts bore an injury mark.

"The body of the infant was recovered from the basement of a commercial building in Rajwada".

According to Indore police, the accused, identified as Sunil, who belongs to the Bhil tribe, was sleeping besides the family in Rajwada Palace area. The initial investigation by police revealed one Suneel Bheel, a 21-year-old youth, as the prime accused as he was spotted in the basement at 4:45 am as per the CCTV footage. "Accused had an argument with victim's mother after which he committed the crime", said HC Mishra, deputy inspector-general of police, Indore.

The accused, who is known to the victim's family, was caught in the CCTV camera. The accused, Sunil Bheel, had kidnapped her early Friday morning when she was asleep with her parents outside the Rajwada Fort. He then took her to the basement of the building, some 50 metres away from where the family was sleeping.

After raping the child, he threw her on the ground from a height and she died, he said.

"The infant had an injury on her head".

Naveen Gadge, 25 and a cousin of the victim's mother, was arrested late last night from the city, a police official said. While some reports said she was four months old, others claimed she was either six months old or ten months old.
