Rajinikanth's 'Kaala' to release worldwide on June 7

Rajinikanth's Kaala, which was originally scheduled to release on April 27, will now release on June 7. Rajinikanth will soon start the shoot for Karthik Subbaraj's untitled flick which will be produced under the banner of Sun Pictures.

According to media reports, Wunderbar Films confirmed the release date.

Kollywood fans who just sighed in relief over the end of the 48 -ay impasse between the Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council and Digital Service Providers, now have more waiting in store. It was only day before yesterday that the strike was called off, which came as a huge relief to a lot of directors in the industry. "You'll see." Apart from Kaala, Rajinikanth will also be seen in the much awaited 2.0 which is a sequel to his 2010 hit Enthiran and it also stars Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar as villain opposite Rajinikanth. After recently completing the censor formalities, the film has been awarded a U/A certificate. In Kaala, Rajinikanth plays an aged gangster who fights for the rights of Tamil people residing in slums of Mumbai. He said that the film talks about the livelihood of a society, Dharavi in particular.

Kaala stars Rajinikanth, Nana Patekar, Huma Qureshi and Pankaj Tripathi among others.

Directed by Pa Ranjith, Kaala will release simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi as well.

The music of the movie has been scored by Santosh Narayanan.
