Brolin was recently chatting about his upcoming movie, Deadpool 2, with Empire Magazine (via The Playlist) and the actor revealed that he would be playing Cable in another three films after this one. In other words, expect to see Cable in a few more Deadpool sequels.

"We think about it in four movie terms". Especially when he uses the four-movie deal as Cable in comparison.

"Look, I really like doing Cable, and it's practical", Brolin told Total Film (via The Wrap).

In the comic series, Cable was the first X-Force leader, so it's likely that it will all tie in, though in Deadpool 2, it's Deadpool who is bringing the X-Force together.

But Brolin nearly didn't take the role - until fellow Marvel motion capture actor Mark Ruffalo, who plays the Hulk, chimed in.

While missing out on playing such an iconic role might be cause for regret for some actors, Brolin reveals in an interview with CBM that while he spoke with Snyder about it, he's glad it didn't pan out, stating "We indirectly talked about it, but we never got to the point because I wasn't the guy for him". He clarified by indicating that his role as Thanos may be short-lived: "That's what makes the Thanos thing really great. It's a finite thing, and I like that". However, it doesn't seem like Thanos will appear in the next phase of the MCU, which is a bit different than how the character appears in the comics. This makes sense. They've come up with the character's story arc and have fleshed it out over the course of four movies.

Meanwhile, Brolin will appear in yet another sequel this year: Sicario: Day of the Soldado. While the Doctor Strange actor explained that he really was around for quite a bit of the filming, as were numerous other people working on the project, he did reveal that the directors had to use a stand-in for Josh Brolin. He continued with "I'm Josh, who's got dots on him, and a onesie, and a helmet can, and I've got Scarlett right there, and I've got Brie, and Don Cheadle, and Hemsworth, and Chris Evans, and Downey..."
