'Shoppable AR' Feature Allows Advertisers to Sell Products Directly Through Snapchat Lenses

Under the new system, Snapchat users in the United Kingdom and USA can buy products via within the messaging and camera app.

The messaging and media app is calling its new creation-a blend of paid lenses with commerce capabilities-"shoppable AR".

Now, there is an option that now lets you directly buy products, watch longer promotional videos or install apps on your phone without leaving Snapchat, reports CNBC. Shoppable lenses will not cost any extra compared to Snapchat's existing ad products.

Shoppable AR allows you to add a button directly to lens.

Snapchat has launched the ad format with Clairol, Adidas, STX Entertainment, and King as its launch partners. "Consumers don't think that way, and neither should we".

Now companies can essentially close that shopping loop, while keeping users inside the Snapchat experience. The Lens Studio includes templates, guides and scripting API to help anyone from 2D designers to 3D modellers and animators to get started with augmented reality.

Snapchat's Discover section will feature Community Lens Stories which will feature Stories with shareable World and Face Lenses that can be added with a swipe up, and Snapchat's new "Official Creator Program" will offer select partners early access to new features and more direct support.

Snapchat has announced new features that allow creators to build their own face filters, including photo distortion and integrated GIF stickers.

Snapchat is updating its Lens Studio tool with the ability to create custom Face Lenses for the first time. Creators will have the opportunity to import their artwork, build their experience, and best of all, publish and promote their lenses with a unique Snapcode and Lens link.
