Netflix releases teaser for 'Dear White People' season 2

Winchester University classes are back in session this May! It tells the narrative of a group of students of color navigating through their predominantly white Ivy League University, Winchester "in the millennial age". Waithe was a producer on the 2014 film that set up the premise for the Netflix adaptation, but now she'll be playing "bragadocious MC" P Ninny, host of Dear White People's Love & Hip Hop spoof Trap House Tricks. The cast includes Logan Browning, Antoinette Robertson, DeRon Horton, John Patrick Amedori, Ashley Blaine Featherson, and Marque Richardson.

The alt-right, cultural appropriation, sex and gender norms, Jesus, marijuana, The Sunken Place, black lesbians, conspiracy theories and black Scientology are some of the topics this season will sink its irony into.

Bell, Antoinette Robertson, DeRon Horton, John Patrick Amedori, Ashley Blaine Featherson and Marque Richardson star, the series won an Audience Award as SXSW past year and has been nominated for Gotham and Image Awards.

Yvette Lee Bowser (A Different World, Living Single) serves as co-showrunner and executive producer, while Stephanie Allain (Hustle & Flow, Beyond the Lights) and Julia Lebedev executive produce. "I have a feeling there will be a lot of secret views on Netflix from these people".
