Klopp told Liverpool players to be angry - Mane

Mane was joined on the scoresheet by fellow forwards Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino - the seventh time this season all three have netted in the same game.

Whilst the goal scorer's picked up most of the headlines, there were assists for both Alexander-Arnold and Oxlade-Chamberlain, who both seem to have nailed down spots in the starting XI for the time being. Dejan Lovren is much maligned yet he's been tremendous of late, while as recently as three weeks ago Trent Alexander-Arnold was seen by many as being a weak link following some hard moments that led to goals being conceded against Manchester United and Crystal Palace.

"You see the games and the performances".

Mane continued: "It was not an easy week for us because it was too close to play each game but as professionals we tried to do it and everything [went] well".

"The finish from Mo was a bit of an unusual one for him and one that maybe took everyone by surprise", midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain added.

"Quick, good decisions, good technique, good defending, I liked it!".

The Merseyside outfit are in the Champions League semi-finals thanks to a 5-1 aggregate win over Manchester City.

"We played well today and created many chances, scored three goals and it was well deserved".

Klopp was gushing in his praise for his team after the game, with their relentless counter-pressing a particular source of pride.

"We didn't control it, but then we scored a third and game over".

"The development as a side is really good", noted Klopp. "All together, it gives the boys confidence and helps massively". I think I can remember him scoring one away at Leicester earlier in the season and that surprised me at the back post, seeing the little man get up and score a header.
