'I'd like to stay humble, it's not a dynasty, it's just one title.

City have a 13-point lead over second-placed Manchester United with six league games left but have been jolted by a run of three straight defeats in all competitions.

Former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry on Sky Sports: They deserve to be champions, I am sure they would have liked to do it against Swansea but now they can play against Swansea with a happier smile on their face because they all know they're champions and they deserve it.

By Christmas, City were already putting together 18 consecutive victories - only one short of Bayern Munich's major league record, also set under Guardiola.

"Everything was complicated, they couldn't play simple, everything was one more touch, one more flick, one more turn, the ball lost".

Not only that but he did it with five games remaining, equalling the English top-flight record of United (1907-08 and 2000-01) and Everton (1984-85).

It is the fifth time City have been English champions and the third time in the last seven seasons.

"Eight titles are eight titles and three Premier Leagues are three Premier Leagues".

We're seeing a packed out Etihad Stadium (for the first time ever), along with streets and pubs lined with City fans. "They lost only two matches [this season] because they were the best team", Mourinho said. Pep Guardiola on another hand further cemented his legacy in history books as he became the first Spanish manager to win the league title in England.

The 47-year-old has previously won league titles in Spain and Germany, as well as two Champions Leagues with Barca. He also conceded it was sweet to triumph in a country where some critics claimed his purist principles couldn't flourish.

It looks so much more achievable again, because City suddenly looked so good again.

The Premier League's record points tally of 95, set by Chelsea in 2004-05, is within City's reach if they can take nine from their last fixtures. Now, driven on by stars Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and David Silva, Guardiola's men can focus on establishing themselves among the Premier League's all-time great teams.

The England worldwide scored one against Spurs and won a penalty in a man-of-the-match display, but missed two glaring chances and his prowess in front of goal has always been his weakness.

Manchester United's record of winning the league with a point difference of 18 points.
