Gulajan Sayyad, chairman of the Independent Election Commission (IEC), told reporters on April 14 that voters could register in some 7,300 polling centers across the country.

The general election is November 6.

Just over half the population has a taskera and the government hopes to issue another 10 million to enable more people to register to vote, officials have said.

If you turn 18 between now and 25 May, you will be able to register before the deadline.

Young people were being advised to to make sure they are registered, and if not to complete the RFA2 form to register or the RFA3 form to change their address.

Another hurdle to voter registration is the lack of national identification cards, or taskeras, particularly among women.

If you are not a US citizen, a resident of Pennsylvania at least 30 days before the primary and at least 18 years old as of election day, you can not register to vote.

"This can often happen as local authorities attempt to clean the registers".

Prospective voters may register to vote in person, by mail or online.
