Stabbing Reported at a Binghamton University Dorm

A student was stabbed to death on campus at Binghamton University on Sunday, school officials said Monday.

The university says the victim was a 19-year-old, who was a first year student at BU.

According to an alert sent out Sunday night, the stabbing took place in Windham Hall around 10:30 p.m. He was described in the Facebook post "as a light-skinned male wearing dark trousers and a dark, Puma hooded sweatshirt". Additional details will be provided as soon as possible.

12 News reached out to Binghamton University Police and they said they could not release any information.

The University is offering a number of services for students, faculty and staff following the incident.

Those in need of counseling can contact the University Counseling Center or the Dean of Students Office, 607-777-2804.
