Seahawks re-sign quarterback Austin Davis, make a few other roster moves

With Davis and last week's signing of Stephen Morris, the Seahawks now have three quarterbacks on the roster.

Quarterback Austin Davis re-signed with the Seattle Seahawks on Monday, but the team is reportedly still weighing the option of adding Colin Kaepernick to the depth chart behind All-Pro Russell Wilson.

Davis had seemed an obvious candidate to sign since he not only had experience with Seattle a year ago but also with new Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer from 2012-14 with the Rams, starting eight games in 2014.

But now, according to Mike Garafolo of NFL Network, insiders are saying that the Seahawks have not completely ruled out signing Kaepernick at a later date. Last week it became known that the Seahawks postponed a scheduled workout with Kaepernick until they know more about his stance on matters related to the national anthem, his collusion lawsuit against the NFL and his other positions against social injustice.

Linebacker Paul Dawson also signed a one-year contract after recording three tackles in three games last season.

The signings mean that Seattle has all of its ERFAs and restricted free agents now under contract as the offseason program begins.

Ott played in all 16 games last season. Teams can have a max of 90 heading into training camp.
