Pakistan is reviewing Syria s situation, Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal said Saturday.

For its part, the Russian Defense Ministry said the defense system intercepted 71 out of 103 missiles launched by the Western forces, giving extra details about the intercepted missiles.

The Pentagon says none of the missiles were shot down and that Syria's air defenses were ineffective.

The missile strikes by the U.S., France and United Kingdom hit three targets where the Syrian government develops, makes and stores chemical weapons, and succeeded in dramatically reducing the capability to carry out further chemical attacks.

Also in Homs, the air defense deterred 13 out of 16 missiles that targeted the Homs air base.

In Assad's view, the airstrikes that were launched in response to an alleged chemical weapons attack by Syrian forces on the town of Douma will unify the country.

Douma was the last rebel holdout in the eastern Ghouta suburbs, the target of a massive government offensive in February and March.

The US President has declared the US, UK and French strikes on Syria a success, as Russian Federation has described them unlawful.

They blame Assad's government for the attack which killed up to 75 people in Douma earlier this month.

He stressed his country's firm determination to continue fighting terrorism across Syria.

The spokesman further expressed deep sympathy with the people of Syria.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry also strongly condemned the U.S., Britain and France for launching the airstrikes against Syria, calling the attack "a clear violation of worldwide regulations and destruction to Syria's national sovereignty and integrity".

The Syrian government and its ally Russian Federation have denied allegations of a chemical attack.

Natalya Komarova, governor of Russia's Khanty-Mansiysk region, also attended Sunday's meeting.

President Trump declared "mission accomplished" in a tweet Saturday, and USA officials said the strike had satisfied all the goals of the military operation.
