Lenovo launches ThinkPad 2018 range in India

The new lineup is made up of ThinkPad X1 along with T, X and L series notebooks.

Lenovo's carbon fibre technology which the company uses to build its laptop chassis has led the ThinkPad X1 Carbon to remain as the lightest 14-inch notebook in the market.

"ThinkPad X" series includes "ThinkPad X280" starting from Rs 73,000, "X380 Yoga" from Rs 87,000. All these laptops are powered by Intel 8th Gen Core processors. Focusing on security, Lenovo has also introduced the ThinkShutter physical webcam cover for camera and augmented biometric security with anti-spoofing capabilities.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon and ThinkPad X1 Yoga laptops are priced at Rs 1,21,000 and Rs 1,26,000 respectively.

The 6th-generation ThinkPad X1 Carbon which was unveiled at CES earlier this year will retail for a starting price of Rs 1,21,000 while the ThinkPad X1 Yoga begins at Rs 1,26,000. The L480 comes with a 14-inch FHD display and 12.5-hour battery life.

The new range also supports USB Type-C power adapters and Ports and a new mechanical Side Docking option for effortless docking and key-lock security. The ThinkPad X280, meanwhile, is now 20 per cent lighter than its immediate predecessor. The new ThinkPad are powered by the Intel 8th Gen processors.

The ThinkPad X280 and X380 Yoga focus on performance, durability and portability. Lenovo claims the ThinkPad X1 Carbon's battery will last 15 hours on a single charge.

The laptops come with the rapid charging feature, which delivers 80 percent of battery in just 60 minutes with X280 up to 16.6 hours and X380 Yoga offering up to 13.6 hours of battery life.

Coming to the Lenovo ThinkPad T480, ThinkPad T480s, and ThinkPad T580, all these models have optional discrete graphics power and extended battery options to deliver up to 27 hours of power. Moreover, Lenovo has provided an Active Pen that an IR camera with Windows Hello support. The ThinkPad L580 also offers new AMD graphics.

The ThinkPad T series are designed for corporates.

The ThinkPad L380 starting from Rs 61,000 respectively offers Core i7 processor as standard like the L380 Yoga, while the L480 makes do with a Core i5 processor.
