Narendra Modi inaugurates first health centre under Ayushman Bharat Scheme

Bijapur (Chhattisgarh) [India], Apr. 14 (NT): Follwing the fourth Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday presented a pair of slippers to a tribal woman in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur city to observe the 127th birth anniversary of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will interact with people and officials of the district administration who at the epicentre of Left Wing Extremism have performed well. Under this scheme and initiative, Bijapur, Narayanpur, Bastar, Kanker, Kondagaon, Sukma and Dantewada will be benefitted.

According to Niti Aayog CEO, Prime Minister Modi will be the first prime minister to visit tribal district Bijapur.The Prime Minister will be visiting Bijapur district's Jangala Development Hub, situated in a panchayat that has emerged as a model panchayat.

He inaugurated bank branches in seven villages and visited rural BPO centre developed under the India BPO promotion scheme. He had visited Dantewada in May 2015, Naya Raipur and Rajnandgaon in February 2016 and Naya Raipur in November 2016.

On the occasion, the Premier laid the foundation of several other schemes worth crores of rupees. Chief Minister Raman Singh also addressed the gathering.

Pointing out that bamboo had earlier been placed in the category of trees making its cultivation impossible, the Prime Minister said that the relevant law has been amended enabling its cultivation and use. Also under the scheme, the government has prepared the broad contour of the National Health Protection Scheme (NHPS) and work is on to finalise parameters for identifying beneficiaries and hospital entitlement. "In all the districts of the country, the rule providing for allocation of a part of the income from mining to local tribal folk has been implemented", said Mr Modi.
