Ant McPartlin has been charged with drink driving by police following his arrest on Sunday.

ITV and Ant and Dec's management have already made the decision to not broadcast this weekends episode of Saturday Night Takeaway.

Ant McPartlin was visited by his Saturday Night Takeaway co-host and longtime best friend Declan Donnelly yesterday, ahead of him checking into rehab.

On Monday, it was confirmed that McPartlin is stepping down from his TV commitments and will head back to rehab.

Since the incident it has been announced that Ant will be heading back to rehab for the second time to get treatment, having also recently announced his split from his wife of 11 years, Lisa Armstrong.

Saturday Night Takeaway has been cancelled this weekend and the slot in the ITV schedule has been filled with The Voice.

Dec said in a statement: "Whilst I never thought I'd be in this position, after much discussion and careful consideration we've decided that the remaining two shows of this series of "Saturday Night Takeaway" will go ahead".

He first sought treatment previous year after getting addicted to painkillers following a knee operation in 2015.

'You've got the rest of Takeaway, you've got Britain's Got Talent coming up, you've got I'm A Celebrity, does Dec Donnelly just have to come off TV as well?' Piers questioned.

After being arrested for drink-driving following a three-car collision in London on Sunday, it has, this evening, been confirmed that Ant McPartlin has been charged, and will appear in Wimbledon Magistrates' Court in April.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police said: "A man has been charged following a road traffic collision in Lower Richmond Road, SW14 that occurred on Sunday, 18 March".

"The 42-year-old attended a west London police station on Wednesday, 21 March and was interviewed under caution".

Police previously confirmed a number of individuals were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

IT'S BEEN A stressful week for everyone involved in Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.

We will be reviewing options for the last two episodes of the series which would not feature Ant who is taking time off to seek treatment.
