The Denver Broncos released new details about their deal to trade Trevor Siemian to the Minnesota Vikings.

Siemian went 5-5 as a starter and played in 11 games overall.

The Vikings convinced Sloter, who spent the 2017 preseason in Denver as a rookie, to join their practice squad before the regular season and signed him to the active roster last September. He has 5,685 total passing yards with 30 touchdowns and has completed 59.3 percent of his passes. But he has ended up as the backup to Kirk Cousins in Minnesota, a team with realistic Super Bowl aspirations.

Ian Rapoport reports that when the Broncos realized Cousins' price tag, they pivoted to Case Keenum.

Paxton Lynch, a first-round draft pick in 2016, has started two games each of the past two seasons for Denver and is the Broncos' backup quarterback at the moment. They sent a 2019 fifth-round draft pick to the Broncos for Siemian and a seventh-round choice this year, after signing Cousins to a three-year, $84 million fully guaranteed contract.

"Everything's gone smoothly thus far, so I'm staying on top of it and feeling really good right now", he said on a conference call with Minnesota reporters.

Earlier this month at the 2018 NFL Scouting Combine, Vikings head coach did not seem very confident in Keenum.

"I'm here for Kirk".

Siemian is a Florida native who played collegiately at Northwestern. "I want to win a bunch of games here and continue the roll this organization has been on recently".

He struggled at times and hurt his shoulder, which he had surgery on nearly three months ago.
