UConn's opponents in this NCAA Tournament have tried to speed up the Huskies and they've tried to slow them down.

Collier had a game-high 23 points and eight rebounds for CT (34-0), which will face fifth-seeded Duke on Saturday in the Albany Region of the Sweet 16.

Two days after running up and down the court in an 88-point win over Saint Francis (Pa), UConn beat in-state neighbour Quinnipiac 71-46 in a half-court game.

The Huskies never trailed.

Quinnipiac (28-5), which is located about 60 miles south in Hamden, comes into the game on a school-record 23-game winning streak.

Quinnipiac uses a balanced attack, with only two players - Jen Fay and Aryn McClure - averaging in double figures, and two more - Carly Fabbri, the coach's daughter, and Paula Strautmane - checking in at just under 10 points per game.

The day began with "Go Bobcats" chants and a little hope from Quinnipiac fans. The Lady Bulldogs set season lows for fewest points in a period and game and lowest field-goal percentage (24.0) in a game.

Caliya Robinson led Georgia (26-7) with 11 points and 12 rebounds. No other Georgia player had more than five points.

Junior guard Cierra Dillard had 22 points, seven rebounds and three steals as the Bulls reached the Sweet 16 for the first time in school history by routing the Seminoles in Tallahassee, Fla. Their team played well but could not take down the mighty Huskies. Central Michigan had not won an NCAA Tournament game until it defeated fifth-seeded LSU on Saturday.

The UConn-Quinnipiac victor moves on to the regional semifinals at the Times Union Center in Albany and will face either No. 4 Georgia or fifth-seeded Duke this Saturday.

Player of the game: Although Quinnipiac held her scoreless in the second quarter, Napheesa Collier still finished with a game high 23 points. We have stayed right on point with how we go about preparing as a staff, preparing as a team and staying right in our lane with how we go about our business. McCowan scored 17 of her 21 points in the second half and shot 8-of-12 from the field. They opened with a 9-2 run and led 33-18 at halftime. But, that was a Quinnipiac team that had just made the jump from Division II.

AUSTIN, Texas - Lashann Higgs scored 19 points and Brooke McCarty scored 15 as Texas booked its fourth consecutive trip to the Sweet 16 with a win over Arizona State. The Huskies broke a few single-game tournament point records, including the most points ever scored in a tournament game. Buffalo will face second-seeded SC in the Sweet 16 in Albany on Saturday.

UConn is marching on to the Sweet 16 in Albany, NY. "And last time I checked, every score in September is like 80-20, if I'm not mistaken".

Presley Hudson scored 28 points and Cassie Breen poured in 22 as the Chippewas routed the Buckeyes in Columbus, Ohio.

The previous record for points in a tournament game was 121. With the upset of Ohio State, they advance to face No. 2 OR in Spokane, Washington, on Saturday.

Tinara Moore added 20 points and 10 rebounds for Central Michigan while Micaela Kelly hit for 15 points.

The Chippewas got plenty of help in the upset from the unusually error-prone Buckeyes, who got behind in the first half and then were run over by momentum and couldn't climb back in.

All-American guard Kelsey Mitchell led Ohio State (28-7) with 28 points but hit just 11 of her 29 shots from the floor. Fabbri became the Quinnipiac head coach in 1995, but didn't become as successful until recently, as the Bobcats have won four conference championships in the last five years and made the Sweet 16 in 2017.
