After the success of Dennis Villeneuve's acclaimed Sicario, people are curious how and where the sequel will go with the departure of Emily Blunt, the protagonist of the first movie. Benicio del Toro and Josh Brolin return for this sequel that follows the pair continuing down a path of wild west tactics to prevent attacks from occurring on America. Brolin and Del Toro are back, though, and Stefano Sollima directs.

Check out the new trailer above, and see it in cinemas from June 29.

The sequel finds Alejandro (Del Toro) once again tasked by Graver (Brolin) to start a war between duelling cartels by kidnapping Isabela Reyes (Isabela Moner), the teenage daughter of drug kingpin Carols Reyes. The other part is also Taylor Sheridan, returning to pen the sequel for the film that arguably launched his career.

Just when you thought the drug war was over, a new trailer for Sicario: Day of the Soldado (formerly titled Sicario 2: Soldado) has been released and it looks like the cartels still aren't getting along.

In the upcoming sequel, Brolin's Matt Graver has been tasked by the USA government with turning up the heat on Mexican drug cartels, whose actions are now being classified as terrorist activity. The first two-thirds of the second trailer for Sicario: Day of the Soldado really had me looking forward to this sequel. "To fight the war, federal agent Matt Graver (Josh Brolin) reteams with the mercurial Alejandro (Benicio Del Toro)".
