While U.S. News ranks some programs annually, others are ranked only every few years.

The Full-Time MBA Program at the University of Georgia Terry College of Business rose eight spots to No. 40 and climbed to 19th among public institutions in the latest graduate school rankings from U.S. News & World Report. The Daniels College of Business, Sturm College of Law and Graduate School of Social Work (GSSW) made the top 100 list.

This year, U.S. News also ranked the nation's top PhD programs in the sciences, which it last evaluated in 2014. "Our graduate and professional programs provide students with the rigor and experiential opportunities they require to excel in their careers".

The School of Engineering celebrated its third appearance in the rankings, and this year marks UC Merced's first appearance in several science and engineering rankings. "We're excited to have the MBA program joining our other ranked graduate and executive programs that enjoy top 25 placements". "It's gratifying to see our success reflected in our forward movement in these rankings and in our global reputation". "We have bold initiatives under way created to build upon this recent momentum and take one of the nation's most ascendant law schools to even greater heights". Sargent College's occupational therapy program ranked number 1 in the country.

Among the UNC System institutions, UNCW's master's in social work program ranks behind only UNC Charlotte and UNC Chapel Hill. View last year's rankings.

"We know we have a shortage of baccalaureate degree holders in SC, but the state also needs more advanced-degree graduates", Gabel says. "Social work is a growing profession nationally and it is becoming an established discipline".

In addition to business schools, U.S. News also released its rankings for graduate programs in law, medicine, nursing, engineering, and education.

The rankings appear in the 2019 edition of U.S. News & World Report's Best Graduate Schools guidebook, available March 20, 2018.

Rankings of doctoral programs in the sciences are based exclusively on the results of surveys sent to academics in biological sciences, chemistry, computer science, earth sciences, mathematics, physics and statistics. The surveys were conducted in fall 2017 and early 2018.
