After giving fans a Hamilton polka last month, Lin-Manuel Miranda gets serious with his March offering: a mashup of The Story of Tonight with Dear Evan Hansen's track You Will Be Found, with the musical's star, fellow Tony victor Ben Platt. The Hamilton-Dear Evan Hansen mashup is also available for free on streaming platforms like Spotify.

The new arrangement of Hamilton's "Story of Tonight" and Dear Evan Hansen's "You Will Be Found" - from musical director Alex Lacamoire, who worked on both shows - blends the two affecting anthems beautifully.

In his own Twitter post, Miranda referred to this collaboration as Broadway's own "Marvel/DC crossover" and designated Platt as Superman. A portion of the proceeds from the single will go to the March For Our Lives Initiative, which supports a demonstration taking place in Washington on 24 March demanding an end to gun violence and mass shootings in American schools.

Platt left his Tony-winning role in the production, now playing at the Music Box Theatre, and was replaced by Taylor Trensch earlier this month.

What do you get when you take two of Broadway's biggest dynamos - and two of its most celebrated shows - and bring them together for one glorious song? "These are all things I was not ready for on a Sunday morning!" one fan tweeted.

To quickly recap, the Hamildrops series is a monthly release of Hamilton-inspired content, started by Miranda late past year. Then in February, Miranda teamed up with comedic multi-instrumentalist "Weird Al" Yankovic for "The Hamilton Polka".
