As part of the statement, they explained how they hope to bring "new experiences, strengths and perspectives...back to our Fifth Harmony family".

The girl group also thanked their fans for their support, love, and encouragement. In spite of the group's mainstream and quick success, group member Camilla Cabello left the group in 2016 to pursue a solo career and now according to the group's remaining members, they are all looking to do the same and pursue solo projects.

"Reflecting on the past six years since we started on X-Factor, we've realized just how far we've come and we appreciate everything so much, more now than ever", they wrote in a statement on social media.

Fifth Harmony is going on hiatus.

Fifth Harmony will still be performing together for the time being, as the group still has scheduled shows.

We do have some upcoming shows through the end of the year which will still happen as planned, and we can't wait!

The American band, made up of Ally Brooke, Normani, Dinah Jane and Lauren Jauregui revealed their decision in a Twitter post today. Meanwhile, the remaining members of Fifth Harmony had a go of it without Cabello, releasing their self-titled third album previous year and memorably dissing Cabello onstage at the VMAs. Cabello has since enjoyed a successful solo career, releasing hit songs and snagging an opening act gig on pal Taylor Swift's Reputation tour.

Jauregui has already released music outside from Fifth Harmony, including tracks with Halsey, Ty Dolla $ign, Marian Hill, and Steve Aoki, so it's likely that the singer will continue both working on duets and songs as a solo artist.

The group now has a number of shows scheduled through the end of the year, which they plan to perform as planned, they said. Ally Brooke recently signed a solo management deal with Larry Rudolph, while Normani featured on the Love, Simon soundtrack alongside Khalid.

The announcement does not mark the first shakeup for Fifth Harmony. She also appeared on Dancing With The Stars.

Jane was the only member who didn't debut solo music.
