Yakuza Kiwami 2 Announced For West, Out On August 28 For PS4

The Song of Life is slated to release for the rest of the world next month, Sega has also announced that Yakuza Kiwami 2 will indeed be releasing in the West for the PlayStation 4. Kazuma Kiryu returns in one of the most beloved storylines in the franchise's history, remade in full HD for the PlayStation®4. Now, in back-to-back years, the West will receive two titles in the series within the same year, with Yakuza Kiwami 2 being the second.

The game will release physically and digitally in North America and Europe for $49.99, and the first run of copies will include a steelbook featuring an illustration of Kazuma Kiryu and antagonist Ryuji Goda.

Yakuza Kiwami 2 is a remake of Yakuza 2, remastered in the Dragon Engine used to create Yakuza 6.

Fans of the Yakuza games intent on fleshing out their collection on the PS4 - and perhaps those of you who missed out on the original releases on the PS2 and PS3 - you can check out Yakuza Kiwami 2 for the PS4 starting August 28th, 2018. SEGA is committed to supporting the best Yakuza experience possible for the series' dedicated fans around the world. There, you can experience the story through a 10-part interactive digital comic series as well as comprehensive character maps and timelines. All the in-game and cut-scene dialog has been re-recorded, with an emphasis on remaining "as true to the original as possible".

But now, fans in other parts of the world will have a chance to enjoy the revamped visuals and graphics of the original Yakuza 2. In terms of new content there will be an additional story line featuring Majima which explores the time between the end of Yakuza and the beginning of Yakuza 2.

The localization has also been reworked, so it's "the most faithful representation of the original Japanese", according to Sega.
