Selma Blair has rapidly backtracked after suggesting that her former co-star Cameron Diaz is retiring from acting. On Monday (12Mar18) she tweeted: "Guys please, I was making a joke in an interview".

In an interview, the actress said her friend Diaz was quitting the profession, triggering a flood of news stories. "CAMERON DIAZ is NOT retiring from ANYTHING", she wrote. "I would have liked to do a sequel, but Cameron's retired from acting", Blair said. The pair played Jane Burns and Christina Walters in The Sweetest Thing, which opened in theaters in 2002.

Apparently, we may not have seen the last of Diaz even though she has been away from acting for a while now.

That same year, she also starred in "The Other Woman" with Leslie Mann and Kate Upton, as well as the comedy "Sex Tape". She has a pretty great life.

Selma's comments came after it was widely reported that Cameron wanted to focus on settling down and starting a family with her husband Benji Madden, who was in the band Good Charlotte alongside brother Joel Madden, who is married to Nicole Richie.

"We women are objectified so much", Diaz said. "She's happy, in love and wants to make the most of her freedom and free time".

The insider explained: 'She would love more than anything to be a mom. "At this point they (Diaz and Madden) would be very happy with the miracle of one child".

'They aren't really thinking past the first one at this point. takes no responsibility or liability for any transaction between user and each fashion vendor. If you enjoy shopping for Ladies fashion, Men's fashion, or Teenage fashion then look around our site and enjoy!.

The Hellboy actor's statement seems to have been taken out of context and blown out of proportion, even though she has refuted her statement in her interview with Metro News UK published on March 11.
