The photos were taken by a tourist, Hadia Hosny El Said, on a balcony overlooking the sea in the resort town of Dahab and they quickly went viral. A report on Arab News on Monday shares that the woman is shown wearing a "bikini swimsuit" as she emerged from the Red Sea waters, following the newborn, who's shown with the umbilical cord and placenta still attached.

Social media users praised the apparent ease and beauty of the birth as they shared the images online.

This is moments after a baby was born in The Red Sea to the disbelief of tourists and onlookers.

A Russian tourist gave birth in the Red Sea in Egypt before her partner and a man reported to be a doctor carried the baby from the ocean.

El Said also captured photos of the new mother emerging from the water as well as another child on the beach.

Mohamed also noticed that before going into labor, the mother had gone for a swim, and was followed by her partner and doctor who helped deliver the baby. Moments later, the Mum comes out from the water ready to hold her child. According to worldwide media reports, the water birth has been planned in the presence of a doctor specialized in water birth to assist with the Russian tourist's delivery.

The woman, her husband and their baby have not been named and there is no report on the baby's gender or latest condition.

The Daily Mail report says that the water birth in the Red Sea may have been "unexpected", but BabyCentre gives a brief rundown of the history of water births, saying that giving birth in the sea is not a new idea.
