Ravens reportedly to sign former Cardinals WR John Brown

The news comes shortly after it was announced that the Baltimore Ravens signed former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver John Brown.

Grant was drafted in the fifth round of the 2014 NFL Draft by the Redskins out of Tulane University.

The Baltimore Ravens have not been attracting plenty of interests from soon-to-be free agent wide receivers, but at least one is seemingly bound to sign with them. He was diagnosed with the sickle cell trait during the 2016 season, and then-Cardinals coach Bruce Arians suggested that the condition led to Brown dealing with persistent hamstring injuries. The size of the deal for a player that has never had 600 yards receiving in a season raised some eyebrows around the league.

Last season was easily Grant's best season of his career so far, as the 27-year-old finished the year with 45 catches for 573 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 12.7 yards per catch. He played in only 10 games in 2017 due to toe and quad ailments, while the Cardinals' offense suffered greatly from the injuries of running back David Johnson and quarterback Carson Palmer. He went for 21 catches, 299 yards and 3 touchdowns for Arizona. Baltimore should continue to pursue wide receivers and could be in the mix for former Packers receiver Jordy Nelson.

After 65 catches for more than 1,000 yards in 2015, his last two years' production combined for 60 catches for 816 yards.

Mike Wallace, the team's top receiver the past two years, remains available.
