Deputy Emir opens DIMDEX 2018

Gulf Bridge International (GBI), a cloud, connectivity and content enabler, is participating in the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (Dimdex).

The Deputy Emir also toured DIMDEX 2018 during which he was briefed on the maritime defense equipment of the participating companies, the techniques and modern equipment in defense capabilities, maritime security and military manufacturing of maritime shipbuilding companies, manufacturing and supplying companies of navigational technology systems, communication systems, radars, missiles and maritime mines, defense systems, electronic warfare and other maritime industries and services.

Marlin 40 is equipped with a 4,630-pound remotely controlled gun that works to fire multipurpose programmable fused ammunition.

Marlin 40 is fully digital and can be configured as either fully slaved to a Combat Management System/Fire Control System (CMS/FCS) or with autonomous local control by means of an independent optical sight and ballistic computation.

Leonardo has delivered more than 850 40-millimeter naval gun mounts to 30 naval organizations globally. Installation and integration procedures are straightforward, the system is compact and no deck penetration is required.

Launched in 2008, DIMDEX is considered the Middle East and North Africa's largest event devoted exclusively to maritime security, with a total of $32 billion in deals being signed at the last five exhibitions. Listed on the Milan Stock Exchange (LDO), at 31 December 2016 Leonardo recorded consolidated revenues of 12 billion Euros and has a significant industrial presence in Italy, the United Kingdom, the USA and Poland.
