CBSE Class 12 chemistry paper 2018: Students give mixed reactions to questions

India Today Education spoke to two experienced CBSE Chemistry Board examiners regarding the Chemistry paper analysis who said the Chemistry Class 12 exam paper was very straightforward and then even average students could expect to score well. The exam for chemistry paper for Maharashtra Board students was conducted on February 28, 2018. After holding the Physics exam on March 7, 2018, the Chemistry test was held after a gap of 6 days.

According to the board, the students who are now pursuing these subjects will continue to study them in class 10 and class 12 respectively, but the new session will not have them.

Central Board of Secondary Education sticked to its exam pattern and marking scheme as released earlier. Most numerical problems from Physical Chemistry were from textbooks. The class 10 exams will end on April 4 and the Class 12 exams will end on April 13. Questions were all from the NCERT, said a student.

St Francis School student Anmol Dogra said, "The paper was a bit hard".

Besides, CBSE has also merged few vocational elective subjects that will be offered as elective to class 11 students in the upcoming academic session 2018-19. Some found it quite hard while others stated that the test was just fine.

"Mass Media Studies was one of the subjects which helped students with the learning disabilities, however, now they do not have much choice". But a certain student said she faced "unexpected questions". All important expected topics made its way to the Class 12th Chemistry board exam this time.

The students coming out of the examination hall claimed that all questions were from the syllabus and easy to understand. According to reports, almost 28 lakh candidates are appearing for the exams.
