For those that don't know, Captain Butcher is a character that visits the game's Headquarters mode during in-game events like Winter Siege and The Resistance, and with St. Patrick's Day coming this Saturday, we will probably hear more about this new event in the days to come.

Just yesterday, Activision and Sledgehammer Games teased a forthcoming St. Patrick's Day-themed event in the first-person shooter Call of Duty: WW2, leading many to speculate what kind of content would eventually be included in the holiday celebration. In addition to the new map there are also a few new weapons including the M-38 submachine gun and the MG-15 light machine gun. The map is free and available to all on Friday, March 16.

This mode will be available for players as a Featured Public Match playlist during Operation: Shamrock & Awe, offering 2XP from 10:00 am Pacific on March 16 to 10:00 am Pacific on March 19. You can check out the official patch notes below courtesy of Sledgehammer Games.

New reticles, weapon camos, charms, uniforms, emotes, and weapon variants have been permanently added to the game.

Rebalanced category reward rates - A wider variety of content categories within every drop, which will make the unboxing experience more satisfying.

There's going to be an increased number of weapons and premium content per update, lower duplicate rates, and the best one of all - no more new pistol grips are being added to the loot pool! Along with the new weapons are special skins franchised with Saint Patrick's Day in mind.

Armory Drops - We are adding a new Supply Drop type "Armory Drops" which will function a lot like Bribes but can be obtained for Armory Credits to provide yet another way to get the content you're after.
