Oprah Winfrey got Mindy Kaling's baby daughter the best present ever

While old-timey baby clothes sound pretty damn cute, if we're being honest, Oprah's elaborate, hand-carved bookshelf filled with classic books for Mindy's daughter is next level.

Mindy Kaling appeared on Stephen Colbert's talk show last night to talk about her new Disney movie A Wrinkle in Time. Apparently Stephen sent the Champions actress "very nice" and "very old-fashioned" baby clothes for her 2-month-old daughter, Katherine, from his home town in SC, which didn't hold a candle to her A Wrinkle in Time costar's custom bookshelf.

"I got a call from my assistant", Kaling told the publication, in an interview alongside Winfrey and fellow "A Wrinkle in Time" co-star Reese Witherspoon. I was not a kid person at all.

It turned out the present was a little bigger than flowers. "All you want in life is to hear that two men in a U-Haul truck are coming to your house because Oprah sent them". She said she stayed home from work to be there for the delivery-and who could blame her?

Namely, an ornate wooden bookcase in the shape of a castle, packed with children's literature and each book inscribed with "Katherine's Book Club".

The new mother sat down with "Good Morning America" and revealed that while she never thought science fiction could speak to a girl like her, this story did.

Kaling, who plays Mrs. "You're going to be talking to us, '" she added, laughing.

"A Wrinkle in Time" opens in theaters nationwide March 9.

"It was the best I could do", Winfrey said.
