Two young brothers die after hit-and-run in Coventry

Police in the United Kingdom have sadly confirmed that a six year old boy involved in a hit and run incident in Coventry, has sadly passed away in hospital this evening.

Police on the scene on MacDonald Road in Coventry where a two-year-old has been knocked over and killed and his 6-year-old brother is fighting for life.

The siblings were mown down on MacDonald Road, in Stoke, Coventry, at 2pm.

They were arrested after a black Ford Focus was found abandoned near to the scene of the crash.

A 53-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman are being held on suspicion of causing death by unsafe driving and drink driving.

Tyre skid marks and debris could be seen within the police cordon.

The pair were both hit by a auto on MacDonald Road around 2 o'clock in the afternoon, the air ambulance and four ambulances were sent to the scene.

"Our thoughts and honest condolences are with the family of the two boys".

"Both were taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, but sadly nothing could be done to save the younger brother".

Police are continuing to investigate how the two young brothers died in a non-stop collision.

They remain in police custody today and will be questioned today.
