Here's some very promising news for fans of Taika Waititi and Jemaine Clement's cult-beloved vampire mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows: FX has ordered a pilot for a half-hour comedy series based on the film.

The stars of What We Do In The Shadows want to launch the movie in the United States - and need your help. Clement is attached to serve as writer and executive producer with Waititi set to direct and executive produce.

Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou and Harvey Guillen have been cast. The pair is also working on a spinoff series in New Zealand called "Wellington Paranormal", following the bumbling cops Karen and Mike who were briefly featured in the film.

As of yet it is not clear if either Clement or Waititi plan to step out in front of the camera in the series. Scott Rudin, Paul Simms, Garrett Basch, and Eli Bush will also executive produce. According to Variety, the series has been picked up as a pilot project at FX, with both men serving as executive producers.

WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS chronicles the adventures of four vampire roommates trying to get by in a modern world that's not always hospitable to the undead.

It's a busy time for the duo, with Waititi working on Bubbles, a Netflix movie about Michael Jackson's pet chimp, while Clement has a one-hour Flight of the Conchords special airing on HBO later this year, and is touring with his folk-comedy partner Bret McKenzie. Waititi, Clement, Jonathan Brugh and Ben Fransham starred as the vampire roommates.
