The West Ham forward has been the subject of interest from his former club recently, with the Welsh side seeing their first bid rejected on Sunday, but Ghana Guardian believe he wants to leave England altogether.

The Swans could end up paying as much as £18m for the Ghana worldwide and are keen to try their luck again before the close of the current transfer window.

Wilfried Bony who returned to the club this summer has missed a number of games through injury and the possible addition of Ayew would strengthen the Swans front line.

Ayew has struggled to nail down a regular starting role for West Ham so far this season, being including the starting lineup on just nine occasions in the Premier League.

Other reports are claiming that the striker has his heart set on moving back to French outfit Marseille, where he played for eight years before joining Swansea in 2015.

David Moyes is reluctant to sell forwards particularly with Andy Carroll injured and Diafra Sakho also looking to leave.

Swansea, meanwhile, have made a request to take Nicolas Gaitan on loan from Atletico Madrid.
