Man shot dead in Dublin likely over feud

The incident happened at around 3.30pm at the Bridgeview halting site near Cloverhill Road in Ronanstown, west Dublin Dublin 22.

Two passengers that were sitting in the auto with the driver were left unharmed by the attack, however, their driver was shot dead.

The shooting is the 14th killing in the ongoing gangland feud.

The hunt is continuing this morning for the gunman behind the latest fatal shooting in Dublin.

The killers escaped in a black Volkswagen Golf which was burned out in the nearby Cragg Avenue Business Park.

Derek Hutch was known to Gardaí and had a number previous convictions including robbery.

The 27 year old man who was shot dead as he sat in a vehicle at the Bridgeview Halting site in Ronanstown yesterday afternoon has been named as Derek Hutch, who was also known as Derek Coakley.

He also had difficulties with drug addiction but was working to turn his life around.

The broadcaster said he was a nephew of Gerard "The Monk" Hutch and that he carried his uncle Eddie's coffin when he became the fourth victim of the ongoing feud.

It's understood the shooting is linked to the Kinahan/Hutch feud.
