Apple plans to open new USA campus, add 20000 jobs

Apple announced in a statement on Wednesday that it plans to accelerate us investment and create thousands of new jobs.

It will also build a new campus - focused on technical support for customers - in a location to be announced later this year, the company said. "Our commitment to Reno and Northern Nevada is representative of the commitments we've made throughout the U.S".

The company said it will make about $38 billion in one-time tax payments on its overseas funds. But under the new tax law, the company can bring back the money at a reduced rate.

Apple also announced that it plans to invest $30 billion in capital spending in the US over the next five years, by creating 20,000 new jobs and building a new campus.

"When I heard the news yesterday - and Tim Cook is a great guy, the head of Apple - when I heard the news, I heard $350 billion and I said, 'You mean $350 million, that is going to be a handsome plant, ' and they said 'no, ' they said 'it is $350 billion, '" Trump said in a speech at a factory in Coraopolis, Pa., a Pittsburgh suburb.

Apple on Wednesday announced a five-year plan to add $350 billion in support of the US economy. About 300 temporary construction jobs also will be created, the company said.
