While Allen has consistently denied her claims, Dylan has never given up in her bid to prove the director's alleged guilt, and recently started to take aim at actors who have worked with her estranged father.

Allen was accused of sexually abusing his adopted daughter Dylan Farrow when she was just seven years old.

"Even though the Farrow family is cynically using the opportunity afforded by the Time's Up movement to repeat this discredited allegation, that doesn't make it any more true today than it was in the past", said Allen in a statement.

The allegations were reported to authorities but Frank Maco, the state prosecutor in the case, decided Ms Farrow was too fragile to face a high-profile trial, despite finding "probable cause" to charge Mr Allen. He continues to enjoy a glittering career and remains married to Soon-Yi.

Greta Gerwig and Ellen Page both expressed regret for starring in To Rome with Love, while co-stars Timothée Chalamet and Rebecca Hall have pledged to donate their earnings from Allen's upcoming film A Rainy Day in NY to Time's Up and other charities.

She reiterated those claims to CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King on Thursday.

Film director Allen was never charged, and Farrow told CBS she wishes charges had been filed following investigations at the time, because she would have "had" to take the stand. A CT state prosecutor at the time found probable cause to charge Allen but thought Farrow too fragile to face a celebrity trial.

Sentiment in Hollywood against the Annie Hall director has grown in recent months with several actors distancing themselves from him or donating earnings from his films to sexual harassment support groups. "He was always touching me, cuddling me and if I ever said I want to go off by myself, he wouldn't let me".

"He often asked me to get into bed with him when he had only his underwear on and sometimes when only I had my underwear on", she added. "When this claim was first made more than 25 years ago, it was thoroughly investigated by both the Child Sexual Abuse Clinic of the Yale-New Haven Hospital and New York State Child Welfare".

Instead, they found it likely a vulnerable child had been coached to tell the story by her angry mother during a contentious breakup.

Many of them add that they were shocked to learn it existed. Allen again denied these accusations, writing in The New York Times in 2014.

Hall, who teamed up with the director for Vicky Cristina Barcelona and new film A Rainy Day in NY, has donated her salary from her latest movie to the Time's Up anti-harassment movement. Chalamet says he will donate his salary for the film to charity.

Yet now, some stars are saying they will shun Allen.

Many of them have known for years that the sexual harassment was rampant in their industry.
