Neymar scored four goals and assisted two in what was a remarkable individual performance from the 25-year-old, but he failed to leave the pitch as one of the crowd favourites.

In August the former Napoli forward refused to hand the ball over the Neymar for a spot kick.

The game was a breeze for PSG and they got off to a rampant start as Angel Di Maria opened the scoring with five minutes. He struck again in the 73rd minute, dribbling from almost midfield before coasting into the box and placing a grounder into the near post past Reynet.

The Brazilian hit two more spectacular goals in the second half to complete his hat-trick, before Kylian Mbappe came off the bench to hit a seventh goal.

Neymar scored his final goal of the match in the 83rd minute on a penalty kick.

World's most expensive player, Neymar, netted four times out of a total eight for Paris St-Germain in Wednesday's Ligue 1 encounter with Dijon at the Parc de Princes.

Plenty went against Silva's words and claimed he was upset by the boos.

Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez recently suggested that Neymar would have more chance of winning the Ballon d'Or if he was at the Bernabéu, words that have caused another rift with Cristiano Ronaldo, the holder of football's highest individual award and a five-time victor.

But Neymar refused to let him take the meaningless penalty, much to the disgust of the home supporters who booed him as he added his fourth of the evening.

Cavani remains on 156 goals in all competitions for PSG, but with his side eleven points clear at the top of Ligue 1 and yet to be beaten this season in the league, there will be plenty of opportunities for the attacker to break the record.
