Speculation that Winfrey could run for the White House in 2020 has swirled since her rousing speech at the Golden Globe Awards, praising women who have spoken up against sexual violence and promising "a new day".

Like President Trump, Oprah Winfrey knows how to play to the media.

Some of Winfrey's confidants have been privately urging her to run, the sources said.

Oprah addressed the Weinstein sex scandal on her Facebook account late past year, writing: "I've been processing the accounts of Harvey Weinstein's ugly behavior and haven't been able to find the words to articulate the magnitude of the situation".

Seal late Wednesday used his Instagram account to blast Oprah Winfrey over her ties to disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein.

In fact, Trump knows her so well he named Oprah as his ideal running partner back in 1999 on Larry King Live.

"I want to say that I value the press more than ever before as we try to navigate these complicated times". "It would be a pretty good ticket". "Women were not believed", Winfrey said, before adding to the abusive men, "their time is up".

The White House continued to field questions about a potential Winfrey candidacy Tuesday afternoon.

There was a huge political divide over an Oprah run, with 91% of Democrats going with Oprah and 85% of Republicans going with Trump. "I thought that they would be talking about it because it was powerful".

"Hmm. Let's just say we've all heard things about each other, haven't we?" she wrote in the comments. Absolutely. But in terms of where she stands on a number of positions, I would find a lot of problems with that. "I like Oprah. I don't think she's going to run". She also added: "She loves this country and would like to be in service in some way, but I don't think she is actively considering it". Although there has yet to be a confirmation or denial of these claims, HLZBLZ is definitely in support of a future President Oprah. "I think it is something that Oprah would have to feel and sense for herself".

During the Golden Globes, Winfrey gave an empowering speech, alluding to the importance of truth given the turmoil that the media has been under in the past few months.
